Jinno Village is located in Daklon Township, Daklon County, Vietnam (the poorest county in Vietnam). There are 230 households in the village, 70% of which are poor households. The residents' income is about 350,000 VND (equivalent to 16 USD) per month.
In Jinno Village, there were 110 children aged 0-5 in the village. Before 2010, there was no classroom in the town. The school principal had to borrow the balcony to let the children have a space to study. About twenty-nine children went to school with an attendance rate of 26%. Schools were unable to prepare lunches for children, and the malnutrition rate was about 75%. Since the kindergarten did not provide lunch at noon, the children did not want to go back to school to continue their studies in the afternoon. Kwong Lung hoped to give children with nutritious lunches and keep the children in school continue to study.
Due to poor living conditions, children are unable to absorb enough protein. Kwang Lung provides afternoon snack-soy milk and soy milk cakes to improve young children's protein deficiency.
Objectives: — Improve the quality of education and increase the school attendance rate of children (close to 100%) -The malnutrition rate decreased from 75% to 26.5% — Children spend all day in school and parents have more time to work to increase family income — Parents are willing to come to school to help prepare lunch for children
